In 2004, Cater Care’s Remote Division was founded with a simple vision: to bring truly personalised facilities management and camp catering services to the remote sector. In the twenty years since, we’ve come to boast a robust portfolio of mines, construction camps, and service facilities in all corners of the country – all of which enjoy the same level of service, whether they’re an hour’s drive away from a major city or four hours on a plane.
Our service capability within the Remote sector is built on three major arms: our catering services, our facilities management, and our supporting ancillary services. Each of these is key to building a truly unique, tailored, and welcoming home away from home experience for our residents.
Good food…
Nobody works well on an empty stomach, and Cater Care is committed to ensuring that residents enjoy delicious and nutritious meals wherever they are. Our Food team, led by our General Manager of Food and experienced chef Sean Anderson, are well-versed in adapting menus to accommodate diverse needs, providing direction, inspiration, expertise, and advice to our on-site catering teams.
Under their leadership, we’ve developed three simple food commitments that guide our planning, preparation, and service of each meal:
The Cater Care team has extensive experience in collaborative menu planning. While we always prioritise the delivery of fresh and nutritious food to residents, we strive to ensure that dietary needs, cultural or religious requirements, and personal preferences are accommodated. We consult with our clients and residents to ensure everyone has a chance to provide input, voice their preferences, and offer feedback so we can continually refine our services.
Good accommodation…
Good food is nothing without somewhere comfortable to enjoy your meal, and our extensive facility management services help cement a truly welcoming experience for our residents. We are able to offer a full suite of facility management services to our clients, including:
From projects as large as planning camp expansions to ones as small as changing over the camp’s linen, our facility management service offerings are aimed at taking the load off your team’s shoulders and letting them focus on doing what they do best. By having a dedicated team of professionals on-hand to sweat the small details, your residents can concentrate on their work and always return to a comfortable home to rest and recharge.
And good entertainment.
While our facility management and camp catering services form the backbone of our remote service offerings, we also offer a number of additional services to help turn your camp from a remote village into a thriving on-site community.
Cater Care’s RISE Health & Wellbeing program aims to tackle the Remote sector’s health issues. We approach healthy eating with a strategy of encouragement and positive reinforcement, identifying and promoting the healthy choices available rather than flagging less healthy options. Educational material is also provided to sites to encourage residents to learn and make more mindful decisions, while higher tiers of the RISE program offer on-site gyms and dedicated Health & Lifestyle Coordinators to liaise with residents.
Keeping residents engaged positively impacts productivity, and our Major Themes program allows our camp catering services to be a force for positivity on-site. Each quarter, we roll out exciting new themes that invite site teams to redecorate their dining halls and transport residents to faraway times and places, exploring their cuisine and culture from the comfort of their camp.
Setting up your camp catering services
Here at Cater Care, we’re committed to providing resident-focused services that allow your team to focus on doing what they do best. Between managing staffing and resourcing outputs, our clients have more than enough to concern themselves with; Cater Care’s services simply allow your site to focus on the big picture while we worry about the little details.
The scope of our services is highly flexible, and everything above is just a taste of how the Cater Care team can help make your remote camp a place people will want to work.
