Indigenous Artwork for our Reconciliation Action Plan

 Much like a company’s logo is designed to represent the company in a business sense, we saw a need for a more visual representation for our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). One that was not a logo but a direct connection to the motivation for our RAP.

With this thought in mind we sought out an Indigenous artist who could create an image that reflects our company and RAP from an Indigenous point of view. Lani Balzan seemed a perfect match for us.

Lani is a proud Aboriginal woman from the Wiradjuri people and is a widely recognised Indigenous artist. She has created artworks for St George Illawarra Dragon’s, NSW Police Force, NSW Education. She has also won multiple awards including the NAIDOC 2016 poster competition, St Vincent Hospital Indigenous Art Competition, Cultural Season Art Competition, and was selected for the NSW Parliamentary Art Competition.

We asked Lani to create an inspired artwork that represented Cater Care from an Indigenous point of view.

Lani spent some time getting to know what and who we are. As she became familiar with us, she gained an understanding and emotional connection, which allowed her to create an artist representation.

The result is a beautiful piece that we are very proud to share.

Cater Care’s Connection

The green and grey areas represent Cater Care and the states and territories where Cater Care are based.

The orange, blue and red dotted areas represent our values, care, pride and community and the services that we provide, which all are linking together as one, and connect.

Strength of the company (green and grey areas) flows towards the colours (services and values), and the dotted line leading out represents growth in the company.

The overall painting style represents the connection between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal with Cater Care.
