Companies in the remote sector have a vested interest in ensuring their residents enjoy positive mental and physical health, supported by positive nutrition and quality accommodations. But, in a fiercely competitive market, ensuring that residents’ food and housing are good enough isn’t sufficient to help companies truly stand out.
Residents should be kept at the heart of operations when it comes to remote worksites and this is exactly what Cater Care is doing as a trusted strategic partner for our more than forty remote mine sites across the country. Keep reading to learn how…
Healthy body, healthy mind
One of the most tangible benefits your residents will reap from your partnership with Cater Care is the wide range of nutritious and delicious dietary choices made available to them. While some camp catering services providers are focused on chasing the lowest costs or the fastest turnaround, our meals and resident-focussed camp catering menus are carefully designed by our team of in-house dietitians to help residents achieve nutritional needs and goals, while always being prepared fresh on-site to offer the highest standard of camp catering services. Not only will your residents be happier with a wide and varied range of healthy, delicious food provided by quality FIFO catering, they’ll be better set up to keep their morale high, level of productivity excellent, and to preserve their health in the long run.
“Always great flavours and variety. One of the better services I’ve experienced, beating many larger camps. Well prepared food and always intimate.” – West Australian Resident
As well as supporting your resident’s wellbeing through providing healthy alternatives, we also take a proactive approach to improving it through our positive lifestyle initiative. Our RISE Healthy Eating Program provides residents with clearly marked healthy options designed by our dietitians to provide the most nutritional support possible, combined with extensive health and lifestyle education to empower your team to make better health decisions. The RISE program can be integrated in a number of tiers, offering a range of services from our healthy meal alternatives and dietitian support to on-site fitness classes and lifestyle coordinators, all while providing mental and physical support for residents staying in your mining accommodation.
“They’re always very friendly, helpful, and polite.” – Queensland Resident
An on-site community
As part of our commitment to providing on-site support to residents beyond the usual camp catering services, we can offer our partner sites a series of perks that help make Cater Care, Cater Care.
Loneliness and boredom can be serious issues for FIFO workers spending extended amounts of time in relative isolation, and allowing them to slip into a monotonous routine can pose a genuine concern for their mental health. To help break up the day-to-day life on site we offer the opportunity to surprise and delight residents with our Major Themes program, giving residents the chance to step into another world and immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, and most importantly tastes of a different place and a different time. Outside of the Major Themes program, we continually work with your site staff to arrange social events on-site where possible to help foster a genuine sense of community among your residents, and keep morale and the overall atmosphere positive.
“When there is a good themed night it usually involves good food, decorations, music, and a fun vibe!” – Far North Queensland resident

Himal demonstrates teamwork daily and without seeking praise or reward. A recent instance of going above and beyond was changing 30 monitors in the Brisbane office, which would cause downtime for the wider team. When asked how he planned to do this, he responded, “I will come in over the weekend so that it won’t affect or disrupt anyone’s work.” Himal always ensures everyone is supported and has what they need to do their jobs. His commitment to teamwork is commendable.
Customer Care Excellence Award
James Milson Woolwich is a one-person site, which means Claire works closely with the site’s care staff to assist in providing the residents’ daily requirements and meal service. Unfortunately, with the current staffing challenges, staff don’t always arrive, which results in Claire staying back to continue service, often with little notice. Claire never complains and always puts the needs of her residents first, and stays on site to ensure the residents’ dining experience is enjoyable and timely. Claire demonstrates great customer care every day.
Safety Champion Excellence Award
Nitika joined the team in the midst of COVID-19. Her can-do attitude and supportive, informative approach uplift the sites’ morale. Nitika respects a site team’s responsibility to service, so her willingness to take a flexible approach and work with a team to ensure incidents are reviewed and action is taken results in the best outcome. Although Nitika’s role is safety, it is important to also acknowledge her positive impact while working in partnership for safety and that safety is not seen as just another routine task.
Culinary Excellence Award

Leadership Excellence Award
From the outset, Shaun has been committed to building his team into the most efficient and safety-conscious team through continuous encouragement and training. To facilitate action, not just words, he set up a safety centre with a laptop for his team to participate in Cater Care and the client’s safety learnings and shares. This leadership approach contributed to Shaun and his team recently achieving 100 incident and injury-free days. Congratulations to the team Jacinth Ambrosia!
