Through the kind donations of Cater Care staff members, clients, suppliers and friends and family, Cater Care was able to raise an amazing $18, 210 which contributed to the overall target of $1.5million set by OzHarvest.
The event brought together celebrity chefs such as Matt Moran, Neil Perry and Ben O’Donoghue with CEO’s from across Australia to cook together for over 1000 people in need. Director Colin Redman worked alongside Colin Fassnidge while Kelvin was paired up with Dominique Rizzo, one of Queensland’s leading female chefs to prepare a three course meal for the guests on the night.
Pivotal to the success of the night were hundreds of volunteers, among which were four lucky Cater Care volunteers – Russell Hewitt and James Wix in Sydney and Zinta Satins and Leon Johnson in Brisbane. The volunteers all worked very hard on the night behind the scenes to keep the night moving and ensure everyone was fed.
The night was a great success at both venues with both Directors very humbled by the experience. ‘OzHarvest do an amazing job within our community and these events provide a wonderful opportunity to connect the disadvantaged with some of Australia’s largest companies and chefs. For a group of people to whom just eating dinner can be a luxury, these events are very special’ says Kelvin Genn, Director of Risk and Service Delivery.
‘This has been an amazing experience and I am extremely grateful to the volunteers who worked tirelessly on the night. I would also like to thank those who supported Cater Care for this cause. None of this is possible without your support, so thank you.’ said Colin Redman, Director and COO.
