The event will be held in Sydney on the 6th March, where participants are grouped into teams and paired with some of Australia’s best chefs, including Matt Moran, Neil Perry, Colin Fassnidge, and Peter Gilmore. Under the guidance from their chef, each team prepares a delicious three course meal to be served to the VIP guests of the night – the vulnerable men and women part of the OzHarvest family.
Last year, OzHarvest surpassed their goal of raising $1,500,000 for their cause. In 2017, they have increased their target to $2,000,000, which will go towards supporting the organisation’s purpose to Nourish Our Country through food rescue, nutrition education and hospitality training for disadvantaged youth, and community engagement programs. To help them reach this goal, event participants are asked to raise funds in the lead up to the big night.
‘The work OzHarvest do makes such a difference on so many people’s lives’ said Neil East, General Manager of Operations, Cater Care Australia.
‘For every dollar raised, OzHarvest is able to deliver two nourishing meals to people in need. By supporting their cause, we are able to help the organisation continue to feed Australia’s homeless and disadvantaged via food rescue programs, whilst also reducing food waste. I am excited to be putting my chef’s apron on again and being a part of the CEO Cookoff’.
