Improving Quality of Life for Aged Care Residents

As individuals, we all need to feel a sense of connection and belonging to society and the community as a whole; a fact that is even more important in the context of our ageing population.

Activities that enhance emotional well-being, strengthen an individual’s capacity to maintain their independence, autonomy and general wellness, which is why Cater Care are strongly focused on working with our clients to improve the quality of life and engagement of our residents in Aged Care facilities across the country.

With a strong commitment in improving residents’ wellbeing and inclusion, Cater Care, in partnership with UnitingCare NSW ACT has launched a resident engagement program which showcases our passion for food and engages our residents while doing this.

The program involves the Cater Care team, lead by General Manager of Food Sean Anderson, hosting cooking demonstrations of classic dishes which are nutritious and full of flavour. The event also  includes food samples for the residents, as well as recipe cards of the dishes cooked to share with their friends and family.

“It is really wonderful to see the residents enjoying themselves so much. They genuinely enjoy the event and the opportunity to interact with the team over some great food and friendly conversation” said Mark Matthews, NSW Senior Operations Manager for Cater Care.
