UnitingCare’s The Big Move is on again in 2015 and Cater Care are proud to be on-board as a major sponsor of the event.
Launched in 2014 as an annual event, The Big Move aims to ignite public awareness of the number 1 debilitating disease for older Australians – dementia.
UnitingCare Ageing’s Director Steve Teulan states “One in 10 people over 65 in Australia are estimated to have dementia, with the highest incidence estimated in people over 85 years (3 in 10 people).”
The Big Move is all about getting older Australians moving to prevent and slow the onset of Dementia. The Big Move will be hosted in various public events around NSW and ACT, as well as culminating in a ‘fifties dance hall’ event in Sydney’s CBD on 9 March 2015, hosted by Jonathan Coleman and Alana Patience, as seen on Dancing With The Stars.
‘Cater Care are very proud to partner with UnitingCare in such a worthwhile event and our team members are looking forward to being involved on the day – it is a fun, engaging way to raise awareness for a very important issue’ said Colin Redman, Chief Operating Officer – Urban.
