As the ease of restrictions from COVID-19 begin, we reflect on the great efforts of our teams across the nation who were able to quickly adapt our service operations to stop the spread with minimal disruptions to customers, clients, students, and residents. Aside from the hand sanitisation and social distancing, the approach has varied to meet the unique needs and requirements of each site.
Our teams were already at an advantage, with our ISO certification standards in place:
We were also well positioned for our people to collaborate and work remotely, with our cloud-based document control system, filing system and document sharing platform already established.
Some of the new measures Cater Care has implemented to address Coronavirus were groupwide:
The measures put in place at our mining sites included:
Given that elderly people are at a higher risk of infection, the measures taken in our retirement and aged care sites have been even more thorough. Aside from catering for residents to eat in the safety of their own rooms or in areas that allow for greater social distancing, i.e. only two people per dining table, we’ve taken great steps to keep everyone as safe as possible.
While many of the education sites where Cater Care provides services were in shut down, those that remained open are also enjoying enhanced safety procedures.
Some staff travelling on public transport are bringing their uniform into work and getting changed at site to reduce the risk of contamination. While at other sites, staff are wearing scrubs all day, and when in residential areas, also face masks.
Our clients have praised the way Cater Care teams have adapted to the COVID-19 event and transitioned to the new service requirements. As these requirements continue to change, our teams are more than well-equipped to adapt.
These are unprecedented times and Cater Care is very proud of how our staff continue to demonstrate flexibility, leadership, professionalism and a level of care that can only be commended.
