Cater Care’s 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Highlights

Cater Care’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) is the commitment we live out through meaningful action in our Caring in the Community program. In 2024, our two major CSR initiatives, Walk the Talk and Christmas Pride, brought our teams together for a shared purpose: making a real difference in our communities. Through increased engagement, creative new activities, and generous contributions from people across Cater Care, Australia-wide, we were able to strengthen our impact and truly showcase our values of Care, Pride, and Community in action.

Growing our impact: more participation, more support

Last year’s CSR initiatives saw more participation with the company-wide challenges than ever, a testament to our team’s growing enthusiasm and engagement. Recognising the increased cost of living, Cater Care contributed directly to fundraising efforts, ensuring that financial constraints didn’t hinder participation.

Making a difference through corporate social responsibility

Our efforts translated into real, measurable impact for the communities in which we operate.

  • Walk the Talk saw Cater Care team members take on the challenge of walking 65 kilometers throughout May 2024, raising an incredible $17,631 for Lifeline, supporting their critical mental health services, along with raising awareness on mental health through presentations with the team on this impactful cause.
  • Christmas Pride turned festive cheer into tangible aid, raising funds for more than 9,400 meals for Foodbank Australia, ensuring families in need had access to nutritious food over the holiday season. Food insecurity is a rampant issue in Australia, and with food so close to our hearts, it’s tragic to hear that according to Foodbank, 32% of Australian households experienced some level of food insecurity throughout 2024, and 3,400,000 of them actually ran out of food.

  • Additional food drives and donations helped strengthen our commitment to combating food insecurity in communities across Australia.

“It’s great to see the donation to Foodbank…  What a wonderful way to share the holiday spirit!”
Arnaud van der Burgt, Chief Operating Officer Remote Division, Cater Care

    Team building through giving back

Beyond the financial contributions, our 2024 corporate social responsibility initiatives strengthened our team spirit. Employees bonded over site decoration competitions, recipe challenges, and raffles, fostering a sense of camaraderie across locations, even in the remote sites of Australia. These competitions and team-led initiatives created lasting memories, reinforcing that giving back can be both impactful and fun.

“Who says the Remote team can’t make a difference from all the way out in the desert? My favourite part of our CSR campaigns has always been how they give us a plain, tangible commitment to giving back to the communities we live and work in—wherever they might be. Brilliant work!”
Tony Wood, General Manager – Eastern Australia Operations, Remote, Cater Care

Building on 2024’s success

As we wrap up another successful year of the Caring in the Community CSR program at Cater Care, we celebrate not just the funds raised, but the sense of unity and purpose these campaigns inspired across the company.

As Neil East, CEO of Cater Care, shared: “Our Caring in the Community CSR program has always provided a real-world demonstration of how our core values guide our business. It’s always touching to see how fired up the team gets about giving back.”

The success of Walk the Talk and Christmas Pride proves that when we come together, we can create lasting change—both within our teams and in the broader community.

So a big thank you to everyone who joined us in these missions. We’re already excited for what’s next. Stay tuned for more impactful initiatives in 2025!
